IN HOT WATER: Greens Thank Liberals For Declining To Run In By-Election Deal of Sleaze

The Greens party's state by-election campaign is in crisis this morning as their federal leader Bob Brown blurted out thanks for their supposed Liberal opponents for pulling out of the contest in order to assist them.

The Greens have faced charges that they have entered into a Greens-Liberal-Deal which has a number of dodgy components because the Greens party have:

■ Voted with the Liberals 68% of the time, even voting down anti-nuclear proposals and tax cuts for hybrid cars;

■ Elected Liberal committee chairs;

■ Directed preferences to the Liberal party in outer suburban state seats in return for preferences from the Liberal party to the Greens party in inner suburban seats the Greens party were hopeful of winning;

■ Secretly taken cash from traditional Liberal donors;

■ Considered blocking ALP changes - if they were elected - to Workchoices, until Bob Brown reversed the position;

The ALP has revealed a Youtube ad which makes much of the Greens party's voting record, something that will sit very uncomfortably with their supporters.
